Some of the best California high school boys basketball teams will compete for supremacy in the CIF Open Division state tournament. All 11 participants are among the top 27 teams in the California On3 Composite Team Rankings. Leading the way are top-ranked Harvard-Westlake and number two Roosevelt, which are also the second and third best teams in the country.
Third-ranked Notre Dame Sherman Oaks is part of this challenging field, so as No. 4 St. John Bosco and No. 7 St. Joseph. Eighth-ranked Archbishop Riordan and tenth-ranked Salesian College Preparatory are also among the nationwide top 100.
Completing the cast for the Open Division tournament are No. 14 De La Salle, No. 17 Montgomery, No. 21 Folsom, and No. 27 Modesto Christian. This competition could feature some thrilling matches, given the talent level that each team has on their rosters.
