Caity Henniger | Rogue Fitness Origin Story
Dear Bill and Caity…
Caity Matter-Henniger broke her foot in 2007. That’s when she was introduced to CrossFit. She began in early 2008, traveled to Aromas for the 2008 CrossFit Games and became the Fittest on Earth.
But before the Games, Bill Henniger and Caity began dating. They got engaged shortly after the 2008 CrossFit Games and married right after that.
Caity then began working for Rogue Fitness in late 2008. And with the growth of CrossFit, Rogue started to really take off in 2010.
Sevan and Caity do address the Achilles tendon injuries. Caity said they tested it multiple times, but did not foresee athletes rebounding the box get-overs that Danielle Brandon and others began doing. None of the athletes who tested the workouts rebounded during that movement.
After seeing the injuries, Caity said they wanted to “keep the integrity of the event” as they didn’t want to change it drastically from what was originally programmed. Caity felt the burpee get-overs was a good addition to provide safety, but retain the stimulus of the original programming.
