Hear from former Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark before jersey retirement
Caitlin Clark made another appearance at the Big Ten women’s basketball tournament on Friday, supporting the Iowa women’s basketball team she led to three straight titles.
Clark was spotted by the Big Ten Network ahead of the Hawkeyes‘ game vs. Ohio State at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the same arena she and her Indiana Fever packed during the 2024 season.
On Thursday, Clark watched the Hawkeyes beat Michigan State 74-61 in a second-round game. She also swung by the Hawkeye vs, Wisconsin game Wednesday night, which Iowa won 81-54. Before the Hawkeyes’ game vs. the Badgers ended, Clark had left and was spotted at a Butler men’s basketball game. But the Hawkeye legend returned to the Big Ten tournament to catch the final quarter of Iowa vs. Wisconsin.
The last four Iowa games Clark attended before Friday night proved to be good omens for the squad, with her most recent regular-season contest being Feb. 2 when the Hawkeyes retired her No. 22 jersey before upsetting top-5-ranked USC, 76-69.
Clark also watched the team play Drake on Nov. 17, which Iowa won 86-73.
Two days after being bounced from the Big 12 women's basketball tournament in the second round, Arizona State has fired women's basketball coach Natasha Adair.
