Butler has selected Kevin Lynch as coach. He is the son of former Bulldogs head coach Bill Lynch (1985-89), who won 36 games and was a three-time All-American Butler quarterback from 1974-76. Bill Lynch also coached Indiana, Ball State and DePauw.

Kevin Lynch comes from Ball State, where he was the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He had been on the Cardinals staff for five years.

“Butler is a special place, and I’ve seen that first-hand through the impact it has had on my family over the years,” Lynch said in a statement. “Young men in our program will have the ability to compete for championships in the Pioneer Football League while receiving a tremendous education.”

“Kevin clearly articulated his passion and ability to build relationships, identify and develop talent, and continue to build a culture of excellence within our program,” Butler athletic director Grant Leiendecker said.
