The Bush Lot United Sports Club, located on the West Coast of Berbice, recently received a boost to its cricket development efforts through the donation of one box of red cricket balls. This contribution was part of a joint initiative led by Anil Beharry and Kishan Das, a Guyanese based in the USA, aimed at fostering the growth of young cricketers across the country.
The presentation was made by Rajbance Hemraj on behalf of the project, while young cricketer Akash Ramdewar, who recently participated in the Guyana Cricket Board Inter-County Under-15 Tournament, collected the balls on behalf of his club. In expressing gratitude, Ramdewar emphasized the importance of the donation and assured that the equipment would be put to good use for the benefit of aspiring cricketers at Bush Lot United Sports Club.
A total of ninety-four players, both male and female, from all three counties of Guyana have directly benefited from cash and cricket gear, while numerous others have received indirect support. Several clubs and cricket committees across the country, including Pomeroon, Leguan, Wakenam, and Upper Corentyne, have also received donations, with a special focus on well-managed clubs with structured youth programmes.
