If you had to pick the most absolutely Dukiest Dukie of all time, if you’re of a certain age, you might think King Arthur (Heyman). Possibly Jim Spanarkel or Kenny Dennard if you’re a 70’s kind of person (we’re keeping Mark Crow out of this, K-Dog!)
For most of us though it’s hard to get past Shane Battier as the ultimate avatar of all things Duke.
Battier is pretty much what anyone should want representing their team. He’s unbelievably smart, passionate and unselfish. His tournament run in 2001 was for the ages. That guy was so locked in that he tipped one shot in with his fingernail. For those of you in Chapel Hill, that means that he did it with his hand the other way round. He was beyond special.
On Monday, Caleb Foster, aka CFOS, had him in on the Brotherhood Podcast where he reflected on his time at Duke, what it means to be in the Brotherhood and more.
Battier is always worth your time – always. So don’t miss this one.
Note – it doesn’t appear to be posted on YouTube yet, so just type in Brotherhood Podcast and it should be up soon. You can also find it in your podcast player.
