JACKSON, Tenn. – Led by Brady Kaufmann’s first career tournament win, SIUE golf erased an eight-shot deficit to win the Grover Page Classic, hosted by UT Martin, Tuesday at the Jackson Country Club. It is the fourth team title for the Cougars in the past two seasons.
The tournament was shortened to 36 holes after Monday’s opening round was delayed several hours due to weather.
The Cougars combined to shoot a 276 (-12) Tuesday, tying the ninth lowest round in school history. SIUE finished at 562 (-17) and defeated Austin Peay (-14) by three shots.
Kaufmann tied his career-low, shooting 65 Tuesday to erase a three-shot deficit of his own to win the first individual title by a Cougar since 2021. He combined to shoot 133 (68-65) to edge Morehead State’s Nolan Piazza for Individual Medalist honors.
Will Simpson tied for fifth at 138 (-6) with back-to-back rounds of 69. Brent Reintjes tied for 24th at 143 (-1). Alex Eickhoff tied for 41st at two-over. Preston Bily was four-over par and tied for 50th. Max Bruening tied for 75th at eight over.
