The Boston Celtics are officially headed to the White House in honor of their winning the 2024 NBA Championship, and thanks to recent reporting from Celtics Blog’s Noa Dalzell, we now know when that will take place. Per Dalzell, the Celtics will make the trip to the US Capital to celebrate the hanging of Banner 18 with President Joe Biden this Friday.
Boston is already slated to make the trip to Washington, DC to play the Washington Wizards on the 22nd of Nov., and the plan to have the players make the trip to the White House for that trip has been finalized. According to the Celtics Blog reporter, the “visit has not been officially announced by the Celtics or the White House, but it was also reported by Massachusetts’ State House News Service.”
The timing makes all the sense in the world, given Boston has two days off in advance of the tilt as well, making additional travel for the honor unnecessary.
