St. Petersburg police have recovered the body of a 72-year-old man found dead in a lake at Vinoy Golf Club Wednesday morning.

Investigators ruled the man’s death as suspicious, said Ken Knight, a spokesperson for the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Staff with the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office were on scene and working to determine the cause of death, Knight said.

Dispatchers received a call concerning the body about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police did not provide any further information.
