BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton law firm has been retained by a golf equipment retailer to recover more than $5000 allegedly spent by the school district to purchase a golf simulator and related gear. The equipment was allegedly ordered by two employees of the Pahokee Middle-Senior High School. The equipment was sent by the company and received. But payment has not been received since the bill was first sent in 2022. Whenever the retailer checks with school district employees about the outstanding bill — it’s always in process of being paid. This apparently goes on and on.
According to a lawsuit just filed in Palm Beach County small claims court by the Boca Raton law firm of De Biase Alvarez, Top Shelf Golf, LLC, located in Maine, sold Palm Beach County School District employees Lashonda Kelly and Brantley Sisnett a “FlightScope Mevo+Perfect Bay Golf Simulator” package for $4,649. The two also purchased a “Mevo+Pro Package Add-on” for $800. The total: $5,449. The equipment was sent to Kelly and Sisnett in 2022. But the bill remains unpaid. It’s unclear if the employees were authorized to make the purchase, or why the school district hasn’t paid in nearly 30 months.
BocaNewsNow.com obtained a copy of a letter sent by attorneys to the school’s principal. Here are key parts: “Top Shelf Golf, LLC’s counsel in Maine had reached out to Lashonda Kelly and Brantley Sisnett on September 25, 2024 to obtain payment for the September 2022 purchase order made by Pahokee Middle-Senior High School (the School) for a FlightScope Mevo+PerfectBay Golf Simulator Package for $4,649, and a FlightScope Mevo+Pro Package Add-On for $800- totaling to $5,449. To very briefly reiterate what Top Shelf sought from their September 25, 2024 letter- the September 2022 invoice (attached) has yet to be paid.
Ivan Sokolovich, the CEO of Top Shelf, has also made multiple attempts personally to cordially resolve this matter with the School for the past two years, but these attempts have been unsuccessful. Top Shelf is still receptive to receiving payment for the unpaid invoice from the School, especially since payment has never been disputed, only prolonged for reasons unbeknownst to Mr. Sokolovich. However, we request that we receive said payment via check, sent by mail to our office within 10 calendar days of receipt of this letter, or we will have no other choice but to seek court intervention.”
That court intervention is now underway. We don’t know where the equipment is currently located. Lashonda Kelly, according to social media, is the athletic director for Pahokee Middle-High School. Brantley Sisnett’s status with the school district is unclear. Someone with his name has had multiple interactions with the Palm Beach County criminal court system over the past 15 years, although it appears no one with his name has been convicted. The Palm Beach County School District does not routinely respond to requests regarding active litigation.
