NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Duke men’s golf team continues its fall slate on Oct. 6-7, participating in the Fighting Irish Classic. Hosted by Notre Dame at the Warren Golf Course, the 15-team event features 36 holes of play on Sunday and the final 18 holes on Monday.
Alongside host Notre Dame, Duke is joined in the field by Arkansas Little Rock, Augusta, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Louisville, Michigan State, Purdue, Rutgers, Tennessee, UCLA and Washington. Warren Golf Course is set to play at 7,023 yards and to a par of 70.
The Blue Devils are coming off a second-place finish at the Rod Myers Invitational, played at Duke University Golf Club, on Sept. 22-23. Bryan Kim paced Duke in its home event, as the sophomore fired back-to-back low rounds of 5-under, 67, and 6-under, 66, in the second and third rounds, respectively, en route to a tie for third place overall.
Duke’s lineup for the Fighting Irish Classic consists of Kim, Ethan Evans, Luke Sample, Kelly Chinn and John Peters.
The first round starts with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., and the Blue Devils tee off on holes No. 4-7, playing alongside the lineups of UCLA and Rutgers. Following continuous play for the second round in the afternoon, the third round tee times will be determined via standings, with rounds starting off of No. 1 and 10.
