Alexis Ohanian is always ready to wear his heart on his sleeve when it comes to his daughters. No matter how packed his schedule is as a powerhouse entrepreneur, Serena Williams’ husband makes sure to carve out quality time for his little girls, creating cherished memories and setting the bar high for fatherhood. But now, as people recognize his efforts and pile on the praises, there’s one twist: Ohanian feels the compliments don’t quite capture it!
The ‘Business Dad’ took to his Instagram on Sunday and shared a video where he can be seen making ice cream-shaped pancakes for his elder daughter, Olympia. He highlighted that while he could not make the pancake perfectly, it was an apt response to the 7-year-old’s demand for ice cream for breakfast. Captioning the post, he wrote, “I messed up the waffle cone but this is what @olympiaohanian got when she had the audacity to ask for ice cream for breakfast. #PapaPancakes.” This quickly gained traction with comments floating in from all across the globe.
Responding to Ohanian’s post, Kia J Brooks, the mother of American rapper and college basketball player Flau’jae Johnson shared an adorable remark. “You’re the best dad in the whole wide world 😂❤️,” she wrote. However, the 41-year-old did not feel satisfied enough with this praise as he responded with a cheeky take.

Replying to Brooks’ comment, Ohanian wrote, “best ever tho??” signifying that he wishes to be called the best dad across generations. Indeed, his gestures have depicted his immense love and fatherhood responsibilities for his daughters time and again. In a recent post on X in October, the Reddit co-founder showered his admiration for his daughters and wrote, “I’m so proud to be a father to two amazing little girls. An absolute blessing.” He has also depicted his culinary skills as well on several occasions.
Remember, Ohanian is known not just for his ventures but also for his love for pancakes. He has successfully passed on this admiration to his daughters, Olympia and Adira, and is often seen baking “Papa pancakes” with them on weekends, an excerpt from which came to light yet again. Besides, he has also highlighted how becoming a father was one of his greatest achievements and how his daughters have given him a whole new worldview.
In an interview with José Andrés, a restaurateur and chef for the Business Dad Podcast, Ohanian shared, “With two daughters, I have my whole worldview turned upside down. And it was so eye-opening and I love it. They are such sweet, kind, wonderful creatures. I just love them.” This love was even witnessed during the Athlos NYC event when Serena Williams’ husband did not shy away from taking Olympia even to the interview box. And it is probably for this love, that the “best dad” even went against the views of his business colleagues.

The amount of time that Alexis Ohanian spends with his daughters is something that many do not expect from entrepreneurs. And as he has continued to prove these notions wrong by setting new dad goals, he has also faced criticism. But Ohanian is not the one to accept offense. He clapped back at the naysayers who questioned the amount of time he spends with his daughters and claimed it impacts Ohanian’s business ventures.
Speaking in an interview with Taylor Smith for the latter’s Offseason NFC podcast, the 41-year-old opened up on the criticisms. “I have business folks I work with. I have got guys who sincerely think I am not nearly as committed as I am to success at work because they know that side of my persona,” he said. Continuing further, he added, “And it’s so wild, because I’m like, bro I know I outwork you, I know my returns are better than you. But I think it’s cute that you have this idea that I can’t be showing up for my kids, making some pancakes, and also show up to beat your a–.” Doesn’t that sum it all up?”

As Ohanian gets the limelight yet again for his immense love for his daughters, it would be interesting to see if there will be criticisms as well. But what remains more crucial to be seen is whether Brooks corrects herself and regards Ohanian as the “best dad ever.”
