The sequence kicked off in race 5 as Master Freud ($7.30) took a six-furlong turf maiden tilt for New York-breds with Romero Maragh aboard for trainer Robert Klesaris.
Conditioner Kelsey Danner sent out the next winner in the Hall of Famer John Velazquez-piloted Mangetsu ($18.60), who took a 1 1/16-mile state-bred turf maiden in race 6, which started the late Pick 5.
Race 7 saw Bossmakinbossmoves ($28.20) launch another upset in a one-turn mile claimer with Samuel Camacho, Jr. up for trainer David Jacobson.
In Race 8, a six-furlong turf optional claimer for New York-breds, Mz Big Bucks ($14.80) continued the upsets with a trip engineered by Kendrick Carmouche for trainer Michelle Nevin.
Christophe Clement-conditioned Les Reys ($14.60) took the day’s featured listed $150,000 Winter Memories with a smart ride from Hall of Famer Joel Rosario going one mile on turf in race 9.
With 2 of 11 horses covered heading into the last leg of the Pick 6 and eight horses covered in the late Pick 5, the longest price of the sequences came through as Emron Ibrahim-trained and Dylan Davis-piloted Misseliofwar ($61.00) won a six-furlong, state-bred maiden claimer in race 10, triggering a carryover in both wagers.
Saturday’s Pick 6 begins in race 6 at 3:08 p.m. EDT, and the late Pick 5 begins in race 7 at 3:40 p.m. The sequences include the Jockey Club Oaks Invitational (G3) in race 10.
