Deepika Padukone, who recently welcomed a baby girl with husband Ranveer Singh, is one of the fittest Bollywood celebrities. Having been a badminton player, Padukone has relied heavily on sports and an active lifestyle throughout her career, even during her pregnancy. The actor, who likes to keep her life private, only shares glimpses from time-to-time of what she has been up to. During pregnancy, for instance, she had been busy doing yoga, which is considered to be very important and healthy for both the mother and her baby, when done under the supervision of an expert and after getting a nod from the doctor. Some women, who have difficult pregnancies, are often advised bed rest. Padukone, who gave birth at 38, however, managed to stay active throughout.
Her yoga trainer Anshuka Parwani, with whom the ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ actor has worked out quite a lot, took to Instagram to share a couple of selfies, showering praises on Padukone for continuing to stay active during pregnancy and prioritising fitness and well-being over everything else. “A beautiful nine months of prenatal yoga with @deepikapadukone and this journey with you has been nothing short of beautiful,” Parwani, a holistic wellness expert, wrote.
“Guiding you through every breath, stretch and asana as you prepared for this special chapter has been an incredible honour,” the yoga expert added. She also praised the actor’s commitment and her positive outlook. “Your commitment, positivity and trust in the process have truly shone through, and I’m so proud to have been a part of this journey… Today, my heart is full as I celebrate you and your beautiful, healthy, happy baby.”
Parwani raised a toast to ‘new beginnings’, ‘endless love’, and the ‘magic of motherhood’, as she stated that she is blessed to be a part of Padukone’s ‘transformative experience’. Her post was met with positive reactions. In fact, Padukone’s mother-in-law Anju Bhavnani commented: “Thank you for everything.”
As mentioned earlier, practising yoga during pregnancy is super important. Prenatal yoga is a modified yoga practice designed for pregnant women, typically starting from the second trimester. It is tailored to accommodate the physical and emotional changes that a woman undergoes during pregnancy, promoting a healthy and comfortable journey for her and her baby.
Prenatal yoga is said to be important for the following reasons:
Experts say that prenatal yoga empowers women to navigate pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood with greater ease, confidence and resilience, and we are sure Padukone is doing all that and more. Do check with your doctor, however, before starting yoga during pregnancy and find out from an expert what kind of asanas are suitable for you.
