The Baruch College Athletic Department and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted their Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day on Thursday, February 20.
The National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) is an annual day of observance held during February to acknowledge the accomplishments of female athletes, recognize the influence of sports participation for women and girls, and honor the progress and continuing struggle for equality for women in sports.
The luncheon featured six speeches by Baruch female student-athletes such as Caroline Gallagher (Softball), Ava Deguzman (Tennis), Paz Moran (Cross Country), Angela Bacarella (Basketball), Bridget Campanelli (Softball), Isabella Doring (Volleyball), and Tercia Dobrzynski (Swimming).
Director of Athletic & Recreation Heather MacCulloch and Assistant AD for Academics, Compliance and Eligibility/SWA/SAAC Advisor Carrie Thomas also spoke at the luncheon that featured VIPs from various areas of the Baruch College Campus.
