SOUTH BEND — The Brunswick School Pipeline flows again for Notre Dame football.
Monday evening brought word that four-star quarterback Blake Hebert had flipped from his longstanding Clemson commitment to pledge his way from Greenwich, Conn., into the 2025 recruiting class for Notre Dame.
At 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, Hebert is a dual-threat talent ranked among the top 30 senior quarterbacks in this cycle. He follows Bruins teammates Matty Augustine (offensive tackle) and Ethan Long (safety) into a signing class that now ranks 13th nationally, according to 247Sports Composite.
First-year Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua is a former Brunswick School valedictorian and three-sport standout in football, basketball and golf.
Both Augustine (6-7, 290) and Long (6-2, 185) are three-star recruits who have been committed to Notre Dame since last winter. Along with Hebert, they have the Bruins off to a 5-0 start after Saturday’s 35-7 win over Suffolk Academy.
Hebert was 10 of 19 for 147 yards passing and two touchdowns in the win. He added 119 yards, including a 91-yard touchdown, on the ground.

The Canadian-born Hebert fills the void left by the recent defection of four-star quarterback Deuce Knight (Lucedale, Miss.), who announced he was flipping to Auburn. Knight switched his commitment two weeks ago after spending more than a calendar year atop the Irish’s projected signing class.
Ricky Hebert, Blake’s father, is a former Arena Football League quarterback for the Arkansas Twisters who played college football at American International College in Springfield, Mass. The younger Hebert transferred to Brunswick School after three seasons at Lawrence (Mass.) Central Catholic, where he teamed with second-year Notre Dame linebacker Preston Zinter.
Once Riley Leonard leaves after this season, Notre Dame will have a quarterback battle that includes third-year sophomore Steve Angeli, redshirt freshman Kenny Minchey and freshman CJ Carr. The highest-rated of the group, Carr has been limited recently by a sore throwing elbow.
In addition, quarterback Noah Grubbs of Lake Mary, Fla., is the top commit in Notre Dame’s 2026 recruiting class.
The early signing period has moved up to Dec. 4-6, two weeks earlier than it had been in recent years.
