Austrian talent Anna Gandler was admitted to the hospital and said she is out of the biathlon world championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
“Incredibly disappointed – an entire year training for this highlight and now a very high fever, hospital and the end of the world championships dream,” Gandler said on Instagram on Tuesday.
She thanked the fans for the messages and wished all the best to her team-mates.
Already on Monday, Gandler posted a picture of a clinical thermometer showing a body temperature of 38.8 degrees Celsius.
Gandler had already competed in the mixed relay and in the women’s sprint in Lenzerheide, but missed the pursuit on Sunday. She will go back home and replaced by Lea Rothschopf.
