All eyes will be on Mackay this week for the first Australia A match against India A, which gets underway at Great Barrier Reef Arena on Thursday morning.
With a spot available in Australia’s Test side for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the likes of Cameron Bancroft, Marcus Harris, Sam Konstas and Nathan McSweeney will be hoping to press their case for higher honours.
However, the batting quartet will have to wait, with Australia A captain McSweeney choosing to bowl first after winning the toss.
