Auburn football made a move in the transfer portal at a position of need on Wednesday, landing former LSU linebacker Xavier Atkins.
Atkins announced the move on his Instagram page Wednesday night, transferring to Auburn after one season in Baton Rouge.
Atkins was mainly a rotational piece at LSU, playing just 31 snaps across five games as a freshman, according to Pro Football Focus. He finished the season with three total tackles.
Linebacker is a position of need for Auburn in the portal following the departures of Eugene Asante, Austin Keys and Dorian Mausi Jr., all players who saw significant playing time in 2024.
Atkins joins incoming freshmen Bryce Deas, Elijah Melendez and Jakaleb Faulk as the fourth newcomer to the linebacker room.
