Musetti – Draper: 26.10.2024 15:00 CEST
H2H: 0-3
Lorenzo Musetti has won three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Shanghai, Musetti lost his second round match against Goffin in three tight sets. Here in Vienna, Lorenzo defeated Sonego in straight sets in his opening match. Musetti offered no breakpoints, and was unstoppable on his serve. In the 1/8-Finals, Monfils withdrew from the tournament, so Musetti did not even have to play his 1/8-Final match. Today, in the quarterfinals, Lorenzo upset Zverev in three tight sets. Last year in Vienna, Musetti lost his opening match against Dimitrov in straight sets.
Jack Draper has won four of his last five matches. The last match Draper had played before Vienna was in Tokyo, where he reached the quarterfinals, retiring against Humbert mid-match. Draper then pulled out of the Shanghai Masters due to an abdominal injury. Here in Vienna, Draper won his opening match against Nishikori in tight straight sets as we predicted. In the 1/8-Finals, Jack demolished Darderi in straight sets as we predicted. Today, in the quarterfinals, Jack won against Machac in three sets. Last year around this time, Draper spent some time playing at the challenger tour level.
According to the bookies, Draper is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. Jack loves to play under these conditions, and always plays his best tennis on the hard courts. We believe that he is at this moment a better hard-court player than Musetti, and that he will win this match easily.
That being said, Draper winning in straight sets is a value bet.

Khachanov – de Minaur: 26.10.2024 16:30 CEST
H2H: 1-1
Karen Khachanov has won seven straight matches. Last week in Almaty, Khachanov won the title, winning against Diallo in the final as we predicted. This was the second title of the season for the Russian. Here in Vienna, Khachanov won his opening match in straight sets easily against Seyboth Wild. In the 1/8-Finals, Khachanov won against Nakashima in three tight sets as we predicted. Today, in the quarterfinals, Khachanov won against Berrettini in straight sets. Last year in Vienna, Khachanov reached the quarterfinals, when he lost against Medvedev in three tight sets.
Alex de Minaur has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Antwerp, de Minaur reached the quarterfinals, where he was upset by Gaston in three tight sets. Alex has not played many matches recently due to his hip injury. Here in Vienna, de Minaur defeated Struff in three tight sets. After losing the first set 2-6, de Minaur stepped up his game, and turned the match around. In the 1/8-Finals, Cobolli retired mid-match against Alex. Today, in the quarterfinals, Alex defeated Mensik in three tight sets. Last year around this time, de Minaur played in Basel, where he lost in the 1/8-Finals against Griekspoor in straight sets.
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Khachanov is in great form, and is playing his best tennis at the moment. We believe that he will continue in that fashion, and win this match as well.
That being said, Khachanov winning is a value bet.
