Bergs – Mannarino: 30.10.2024 12:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Zizou Bergs has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Antwerp, Bergs reached the quarterfinals, where he lost against Giron in straight sets. Here in Paris, Bergs failed to qualify for the main-draw tournament. However, he entered the main-draw tournament as a lucky loser. In the first main-draw round, Zizou defeated Gasquet in straight sets. The Belgian offered and saved five breakpoints. Last year around this time, Bergs played at the challenger tour level.
Adrian Mannarino has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Basel, Mannarino lost his opening match against Wawrinka in three tight sets. Mannarino struggled throughout the whole season, resulting in him dropping outside the top 50 in the rankings. Here in Paris, Adrian upset Tommy Paul in the opening round. Last season, Adrian had his biggest results. However, he underperformed on every surface this season. Last year in Paris, Adrian lost his opening match against Van de Zandschulp in straight sets.
According to the bookies, Bergs is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. Mannarino has been struggling with his form throughout the whole season. On the other hand, Zizou is having his breakthrough season, and had his biggest wins on the indoor courts such as this one.
That being said, Bergs winning is a value bet.

Popyrin – Medvedev: 30.10.2024 11:00 CEST
H2H: 0-3
Alexei Popyrin has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Vienna, Alexei lost his opening match against Mensik in straight sets as we predicted. Here in Paris, Alexei won his opening match against Berrettini in straight sets. This has been the best season for the Australian. However, he is still inconsistent, and hard to predict. He won the biggest title of his career in Montreal earlier this season, which brought him closer to the top 20 in the rankings. Last year in Paris, Alexei lost his opening match against Jarry in straight sets.
Daniil Medvedev has won three of his last five matches. Last week, Daniil played an exhibition tournament in Saudi Arabia, where he lost against Jannik Sinner in straight sets. His last competitive match was in Shanghai, where he reached the quarterfinals, and where he also lost against Sinner in straight sets. Last year in Paris, Medvedev lost his opening match against Dimitrov in three tight sets.
According to the bookies, Popyrin is the underdog in this matchup. Medvedev was injured recently, so we are still not sure if he is fit for his opening match. On the other hand, Popyrin played a solid opening match, so we believe that he will be fully confident coming into this match.
That being said, Popyrin covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Alexei Popyrin +3.5 games handicap @1.73 @bet365
