The 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic had not yet officially snatched qualification for the ATP Finals, but he was really close. Five had already snatched qualification: Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz. Competing for the last three available places were the Serbian champion, Casper Ruud, Alex De Minaur and Andrey Rublev.
The Norwegian and the Russian went to Metz, while the Australian went to Belgrade. Following Nole’s withdrawal, which was in any case foreseeable after the Serbian’s words released a few months ago, Ruud, De Minaur and Rublev, the last qualified in Turin, could also withdraw before the end of the tournament, to save useful energy.

The Finals will start on November 10 and will end on the 17th. Even though they won’t be able to admire the Serbian champion, the fans present at the stadium will still have many stars and, for the first time in years, they will witness a new era, considering that at least one of Nole, Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer will not be there.
It was in the air but in the last few hours the official announcement has arrived. As mentioned, Djokovic will not participate in the ATP Finals in Turin 2024. The 24-time Grand Slam champion announced his withdrawal through the following Instagram story: “It’s a real honor to qualify for the Finals in Turin. I couldn’t wait to be there but due to an ongoing injury I won’t be able to play next week. I apologize to those who were planning to see me. I wish all the players a great tournament. See you soon.”
