Sinner – Rublev: 17.08.2024 19:00 CEST
H2H: 5-3
Jannik Sinner has won four of his last five matches. The world number 1 was struggling with the disease earlier this month. Two weeks ago in Montreal, Jannik reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Rublev in three tight sets. The Italian was not 100% fit, and looked tired on the court. Rain interruptions forced him to play two matches in one day, so it made things more complicated for him. That being said, Jannik did not defend the title in Montreal. Here in Cincinnati, Jannik won his first match against Michelsen in two tight sets as we predicted. After that, in the 1/8-Finals, Jordan withdrew from the tournament, so Sinner proceeded to the quarterfinals, without having to play his 1/8-Final match. Last year in Cincinnati, Jannik lost in the second round of the tournament against Dusan Lajovic.
Andrey Rublev has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Montreal, Andrey reached the final where he lost against Popyrin in straight sets. It was a solid performance from the Russian. Here in Cincinnati, Rublev won his first match against Zhang in straight sets. After that, in the 1/8-Finals, Rublev defeated Nakashima in straight sets once again.
According to the bookies, Sinner is the favorite in this matchup. We already saw that Rublev could win against Sinner last week in Montreal. He has good momentum, so we believe that the Russian will keep this match tight and have his chances.
That being said, Rublev covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Hurkacz – Tiafoe: 18.08.2024 01:00 CEST
H2H: 3-3
Hubert Hurkacz has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Montreal, Hubert reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Popyrin, who ended up winning the tournament in three tight sets. Here in Cincinnati, Hurkacz won his first match against Nishioka in three sets. Yesterday, in the 1/8-Finals, Hubert defeated Cobolli in three sets once again.
Frances Tiafoe has won three of her last five matches. Last week in Montreal, Frances lost against Tabilo in the first round as we predicted. Here in Cincinnati, Tiafoe defeated Davidovich Fokina in straight sets. The first set was a roller coaster, but Frances managed to win the set after he was 1-3 down. He was trailing in the second set as well, but once again stayed calm and won in straight sets. In the second round, Tiafoe defeated Musetti in straight sets as we predicted. Yesterday, in the 1/8-Finals, the American won against Lehecka in three tight sets, after spending almost three hours on the court. Last year in Cincinnati, Tiafoe lost in the second round against Wawrinka in straight sets.
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. After a couple of exhausting matches, we believe that Tiafoe will be tired against Hurkacz. Hubert spent way less time on the court this week, so we believe that this will be a main factor in this matchup.
That being said, Hurkacz winning is a value bet.
