Lehecka – Dimitrov: 04.01.2025 06:00 CEST
H2H: 2-1
Jiri Lehecka has won four of his last five matches. Lehecka had a great season last year and hopes to continue in that fashion. Here in Brisbane, Jiri won his opening-round match against Rune in straight sets. The Czech was excellent under pressure, winning the most important points of the match. In the second round, Jiri defeated Nishioka in three tight sets. He struggled to close the match in the second set but immediately broke back and won in comfortable straight sets. Today, in the quarterfinals, Lehecka defeated Jarry in straight, comfortable sets.
Grigor Dimitrov has won four of his last five matches. Grigor won his opening-round match against Hanfmann in Brisbane in straight sets. After that, in the second round, Grigor also won against Vukic in straight sets. Dimitrov had a solid season last year, which brought him back into the top 10 in the rankings. Today, in the quarterfinals, Jordan Thompson retired mid-match against Dimitrov. Grigor is a defending champion here in Brisbane. He defeated Rune last year in the final in straight sets.
According to the bookies, Dimitrov is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Grigor has been playing his best tennis for the last couple of months. We believe that the defending champion will be a better player tomorrow on the court and win.
That being said, Dimitrov winning is a value bet.

Opelka – Mpetshi Perricard: 04.01.2025 11:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Reilly Opelka has won four of his last five matches. Opelka has been suffering from injuries for the last couple of seasons. The big American hopes to stay fit and play without back problems. Here in Brisbane, Reilly won his opening-round match against Gomez in straight sets. He offered no break points and served great throughout the match. In the second round, Reilly had it hard against Arnaldi. Opelka was on the verge of losing the first set but broke his serve back and turned the first set around. Opelka ended up winning the match through two tiebreaks. Today, in the quarterfinals, Reilly upset Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has won four of his last five matches. Here in Brisbane, Giovanni defeated Kyrgios in a three-set thriller. The Frenchman served 36 aces and held his serve throughout the whole match. It was an entertaining match overall, with Giovanni playing better under pressure. In the second round, Mpetshi Perricard won against Tiafoe in straight sets. He had a breakthrough last season and hopes to continue in that fashion. Today, in the quarterfinals, Mpetshi defeated Mensik in straight sets, as we predicted.
According to the bookies, this will be an almost 50-50 match. Mpetshi has been more consistent for the last couple of weeks, so we believe that he will be a better player tomorrow.
That being said, Mpetshi Perricard winning is a value bet.
