Ash Barty is having another baby.
The retired tennis superstar and husband Garry Kissick surprised fans late on Christmas Day with a cute Instagram post sharing the news.
“Merry Christmas from our growing family to yours,” they wrote alongside a picture of their first child, Hayden, at the Christmas tree.
The toddler was facing away from the camera, wearing a white T-shirt saying “I am going to be a big brother”.
Pro golfer Anthony Quayle and tennis player Lizette Cabrera were among those to share their congratulations.
Barty retired from the sport two years ago at the height of her career in 2022. She welcomed her baby son Hayden in July 2023.
Hayden celebrated his first birthday in June with a delicious-looking hedgehog cake “for breakfast”.
Earlier in the year, Barty reflected on how much admiration she had for parents since having her own baby.
“Being a parent is the hardest but the best thing in the world,” she said.
“I don’t think anything quite prepares you for motherhood! For me it’s been a huge learning curve and the most wonderful experience of my life. It’s not comparable to anything else.”
