Arkansas football is losing its top three running backs from the 2024 campaign after Rashod Dubinion announced he was entering the transfer portal Tuesday. The Razorbacks had already lost freshman Braylen Russell to the portal, while Ja’Quinden Jackson declared for the NFL draft.
Dubinion was in line for a big role next fall, potentially as the Hogs’ lead back, but he will now look elsewhere for a new home. He was already ruled out of the upcoming Liberty Bowl versus Texas Tech after undergoing offseason knee surgery.
The Georgia native finishes his Arkansas career with 888 yards rushing and eight rushing touchdowns on 209 carries.
Despite missing four games in 2024 with injury and suspension, this latest season was Dubinion’s most productive. He ran for 335 yards and two touchdowns on 56 carries this season. He missed four games and finished as Arkansas’ third-leading rusher, behind Jackson and quarterback Taylen Green.
The other scholarship running backs on the roster are Rodney Hill, Tyrell Reed Jr. and Juju Pope, who combined for 131 yards on 25 carries this fall.
Dubinion’s best game as a Razorback came in the 2022 Liberty Bowl, running for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries to go with three receptions for 19 yards. He was the backup to Rocket Sanders for two seasons before primarily serving as a backup this year, although he closed the campaign with three consecutive starts.
Running back now becomes a major position of need through the transfer portal. There’s no obvious starter for 2025 already on the roster. Cameron Settles and Markelyin Bratton are high school signees who will be freshmen for next season.
