AQUEDUCT RACE 9: Post: 3:35 ET Grade: B+
Top Selection/Prime Play: 7-Locked
Forecast: After a facile score over an outclassed allowance field in his first start in almost a year, Locked tackles the big boys today in this year’s edition of the Cigar Mile-G2. He produced a significant forward move when utilizing a similar pattern in 2023 by improving his Beyer speed figure 15 points between his debut and his second start, and if he can duplicate that form cycle today, the son of Gun Runner can score right back. A Grade-1 winner during his two year old campaign, the T. Pletcher-trained sophomore has a perfect stalking style for this one-turn mile trip, so a career top performance appears likely. We’ll make him a strong gamble in the win pool and the key in all of our rolling exotics.
LOS ALAMITOS RACE 8: Post: 4:00 PT Grade: A-
Top Selection/Prime Play: 4-Look Forward
Forecast: Look Forward graduated at first asking sprinting with a stakes-quality speed figure and gets her chance to verify that promise in this year’s edition of the Starlet S.-G2. Though she won that race on the front end, the daughter of Bolt d’Oro should be able to settle in the second flight if the race flows dictate it and then produce her best bid when called upon at the head of the lane. A bullet workout since raced for new trainer M. McCarthy is another positive factor, so let’s aggressively play this exciting prospect on the tote and in the various rolling exotics.
