The CHRB reports that a horse was killed Saturday at Los Alamitos – that would be the fourth in three days there (not including the six who died Oct 2 and 3 of EIA) – “musculoskeletal,” they say. The horse in question was so young, he/she didn’t have a name yet. In fact, the Board notes, he/she was a yearling – that’s right, just one year old.
On another note, the chart for the 8th at Grants Pass last night says that Grammy Winner “stumbled in upper stretch [and] fell.” Then this: “The stewards looked at the spill and assigned no blame.” Yup, no blame at all. No word yet on the 3-year-old’s fate.
