CLINTON, S.C. – Anne Marie Covar, the head coach of the Presbyterian College Blue Hose women’s golf team, has accepted the head coaching position at Western Carolina University. A national search for Presbyterian College’s next head coach is already underway.
“We are so grateful to Anne Marie for her devotion to PC Women’s Golf.” Said Presbyterian’s Athletic Director Dee Nichols. “She made our department better as well as the women’s golf program. We wish her well but will miss having her at PC.”
Covar joined the Blue Hose family in August 2019 and recently completed her fifth season with the team during the 2023-24 season. During her tenure, she coached standout players like Sarah Boteler, who earned a spot on the Big South All-Freshman Team in 2022, and Mariana Polakova, who received the same honor the following year.
Under Covar’s leadership, the team secured their first tournament title since the 2008-09 season at the Bright’s Creek Intercollegiate during the 2022-23 season. Her final season with the Blue Hose was marked by impressive achievements, including seven top 10 team finishes and three players who finished top 10 individually at least twice.
The Texas A&M men’s and women’s golf teams proved the power of a strong finish at their respective tournaments over the weekend, as the
