More often than not, Angelina Jolie follows a simple yet effective uniform: a solid dress or a classic top and trousers, a great coat, pointed pumps, a timeless bag, large shades, and gold jewelry. We’ve come to know and love her style for its consistency and understated elegance—but once in a while, the Atelier Jolie founder surprises us.
This past Sunday, Jolie was spotted at the Los Angeles International Airport, where she put an unexpected summer twist on her travel wardrobe via a pair of espadrille platforms. They were Christian Louboutin’s Calakala shoes in caramel brown suede and calf leather, plus a braided raffia sole.
The platforms gave a casual end-of-summer spin to Jolie’s look, which otherwise perfectly followed her go-to outfit solution. For the core of the ensemble, the Maria star wore a black flowy dress under a matching black coat, paired with black shades and the ultimate luxury travel tote: Dior’s large Toujours Bag in black macrocannage calfskin with golden D-I-O-R charms.
Jolie’s outing marks the first time she’s been seen in public since son Pax’s scary e-bike accident. The 20-year-old was released from the ICU earlier this month after he crashed near a heavily trafficked area on Los Feliz Boulevard in L.A. He was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and suffered head and hip injuries. A source told People that Pax has a “long road of recovery” ahead of him, but mom Jolie is supporting him through it all.
