PINEHURST, N.C. (KWCH) – Andale’s Graham Schmidt won the 9-year-old A Division of the U.S. Kids World Championships on Saturday at Pinehurst No. 1 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
He finished with a three-day score of 9-under to win by two strokes. In the second round, he fired a personal best 7-under 63.
The competition featured golfers from all over the world, including Japan, Thailand, Canada, Great Britain and beyond.
He was caddied by his father, Dylan, the head football coach at Andale.
Each year, the U.S. Kids Golf World Championships welcomes golfers ages 5-12 to championship courses in the Pinehurst area for the world’s largest junior golf tournament.
