But leaving the pitch doesn’t mean walking away from football or women’s sports in general completely.

In fact, she sees it as an opportunity as she continues to grow them, and her investment portfolio, from the sidelines.

“I think we’re seeing an incredible opportunity in the WNBA and the NWSL,” she explained.

“The valuations of these teams and leagues are continuing to increase and we’re seeing it not only here, but overseas as well.

“What excites me the most about my next chapter is that even through I’m not able to be on the field, I’m able to uplift and support women’s sports leagues and teams around the world.”

The work to continue growing women’s sports is already well underway for Morgan, whose media company is a key factor in doing so.

Whether it be working on coverage, as an advisor or assisting her former clubs, she is committed to putting the work in.

“My media company, Togetxer, we’re working to uplift these women and give them opportunities to share their stories, whether that’s through podcasts or short/long form content,” the 35-year-old said.

“Then there’s the investing side and the mentorship and advising roles, which I’m still refining to figure out how I can have the biggest impact.

“I’m also continuing to support the NWSL [which she played in since its inception in 2013], and looking for ways to be most impactful.”

As far as the ‘post-playing career’ is concerned, things are just getting start for the soon-to-be mum-of-two.

But there are few better equipped to help elevate these disciplines to the next level than one who has lived and breathed it her whole life.
