Alabama basketball‘s final two-game road trip has nearly come to a close, and the Crimson Tide is hoping its legs don’t give out in Texas.
Coach Nate Oats said Monday newly-minted No. 1 Alabama (20-3, 9-1 SEC) is “banged up” after a physical faceoff against Arkansas on Saturday in Bud Walton Arena.
The SEC athlete-availability report looked bleak for Texas (15-9, 4-7) coming into the matchup, listing four Longhorns over the weekend. Although that plays in the favor of a worn-out Crimson Tide, a squad that’s done better away from Coleman Coliseum, Alabama has been known to underestimate the lesser opponents on its schedule. A lazy effort in Moody Center certainly won’t see the top team in the nation return to Tuscaloosa without a win.

Alabama basketball vs Texas will be broadcast on ESPN, which can be streamed through ESPN+ and Fubo.
Here are the game lines and odds from BetMGM as of Tuesday:
Freshman forward Derrion Reid (lower body), who Oats said would be game-to-game after sitting against Arkansas, is questionable to play vs. the Longhorns. Remaining on the bench for Alabama are Houston Mallette (knees) and Latrell Wrightsell Jr. (Achilles tendon).
Texas will be without Chendall Weaver and potentially three more players.
Weaver’s return has been indefinite since a hip injury on Jan. 6 against Auburn. Fellow guard Tramon Mark was listed as probable on Sunday after surprising fans when he was ruled out on the SEC athlete-availability report for Vanderbilt on Feb. 6. Forwards Arthur Kaluma, a starter with the second highest-scoring average at 13.4 points per game, and Devon Pryor were probable.
The most exciting week in Alabama basketball history is here. Texas is up first, but all eyes are already on the first No. 1 versus No. 2 showdown in SEC history on Saturday. What to know from the headlines as the Crimson Tide eyes Auburn:
