Well it’s official: former Blue Devil AJ Griffith has cut ties with the Houston Rockets and appears to be leaving the NBA after just two seasons.
For most people, this is a shocking decision because for most of us, the NBA is an unobtainable dream. You would get a chance to play on the absolute highest stage of the sport, you’d be well-known around the world, and you’d go out with models and spend time around beautiful people (just stay away from Diddy parties).
And you’d make amazing money at a very young age. Sounds great, right?
Well, for whatever reason, it isn’t working for Griffin, because he’s willing to walk away from all of that.
But why?
It’s still a mystery, but whatever is behind his decision, his priorities have changed.
For now, we’ll just wish this Brotherhood member the best as he moves his life into a very different direction.
One last thought: it’s been reported as Griffin leaving the NBA, but it’s not clear that that’s what he’s doing. He could just be leaving the Rockets. Or he could be leaving the NBA and playing somewhere else, for that matter. Presumably we’ll know sometime soon.
