Al Ahly midfielder Ahmed Kendouci is set to join Qatari side Al-Shamal on a permanent transfer according to reports.
Kendouci arrived at Al Ahly from ES Setif in January last year but struggled to break into Al Ahly’s starting lineup under head coach Marcel Koller.
The Algerian midfielder was then sent out on loan to league rivals Ceramica Cleopatra last summer for more game time.
Despite rediscovering his form, it seems Kendouci will not return to parent club Al Ahly as he is reportedly set for a move to Al-Shamal.
According to Qatari news outlet Al-Sharq, Kendouci is close to joining Al-Shamal and the deal could be announced next week.
The 25-year-old is still taking part in the current Egyptian Premier League season with Ceramica, who are currently ninth in the standings with five games remaining.
