It seems that there may be trouble in the relationship between tennis stars Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya. A few days ago, Kalinskaya unfollowed the World No. 1 on Instagram after she was not seen at his ATP Finals victory. She has seemingly confirmed the rumors of a split between them with a cryptic message on social media.
During the ATP Finals, while Kalinskaya was spotted enjoying some solo time in Miami, Sinner’s ex-girlfriend, Maria Braccini, was in Turin to cheer him at the ATP Finals. The awkward setting in recent days indicates that there’s a rift between Sinner and Kalinskaya. But, for now, they are just rumors and gossip.
However, Kalinskaya is also absent from the Davis Cup, where Sinner is currently representing Italy. Combined with the fact that the Russian star no longer follows Sinner on Instagram and that the couple haven’t been seen together in the last few weeks, it has led many to wonder if this is the end of the relationship.
Fans have not forgotten the couple’s kiss at the US Open after Sinner defeated Taylor Fritz to win his second career Grand Slam. Nonetheless, a recent message from Kalinskaya on social media may be a confirmation of their split.
Sinner has enjoyed an excellent 2024 season as he dominated the ATP events. He claimed eight titles, including two Grand Slams and finished for the first time as year-end World No. 1. He has achieved several records and taken Italy to the mountaintop of tennis.
Jannik Sinner led Italy to a quarterfinals victory against Argentina at the Davis Cup in Malaga. The World No. 1 dug the Italian team out of a hole after his teammate, Lorenzo Musetti lost to Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo in the opening match. Sinner leveled the tie instantly after beating Sebastian Baez 6-2, 6-1 to force a decisive doubles match.
In the doubles, Sinner partnered with Matteo Berrettini and delivered an impressive 6-4, 7-5 victory over Argentine doubles veterans, Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni. The 2-1 victory earned them a place in the semifinals. After the tie, Argentina Captain Guillermo Coria said Sinner is one of the best World No. 1’s in history.
Sinner and Italy will face Australia on Saturday (November 23) in the semifinals of the Davis Cup. The tie will determine who will face the Netherlands in the final after the Dutch team secured their first Davis Cup title match in history.
