Planet Fitness, known for its long-standing $10 membership plan, is now exploring the possibility of raising its prices.

Looking for a new gym in the Boston area? Planet Fitness recently opened a new location in Allston.
The new gym marks the affordable fitness center chain’s ninth location in Boston. Along with the brand’s premiere workout machines, Allston’s Planet Fitness will feature many new amenities, including plate-loaded strength training equipment.
“We are excited to continue expanding throughout Massachusetts with the addition of the Allston club,” said James Innocenti, COO of Supreme Fitness, a Planet Fitness franchise division. “Whether you are a seasoned fitness pro or a first-time gym goer, our friendly staff and brand-new, state-of-the art fitness center will create a space where everyone feels accepted.”

Planet Fitness’ newest Mass. location is open now at 226 Harvard Ave. in Allston, with hours from 5 a.m.to 11 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
New members can sign up online for just $1 down and then $15 per month with no commitment through Jan. 31.
