Indiana’s ascent in the national polls continued on Sunday following their perfect first half of the 2024 season.
In the new coaches poll released on Sunday afternoon, the Hoosiers (6-0) moved up four spots to No. 20.
The Hoosiers are joined in the Big Ten by fellow undefeated squads Ohio State (2), Oregon (3) and Penn State (5). Indiana moved one spot ahead of Michigan (21). Illinois rounds out the ranked Big Ten teams at No. 23.
In the new AP Top-25, Indiana is now No. 18, reflecting a five spot improvement. All of the same Big Ten teams are ranked in the AP poll. Indiana’s next opponent, Nebraska, received 51 votes and is effectively No. 27.
In ESPN’s updated Football Power Index (FPI), IU is ranked No. 14. FPI now gives the Hoosiers a better than 50% chance to make the College Football Playoff.
In ESPN’s SP+, IU moved up 2 spots to No. 17.
Indiana became the first FBS team to achieve bowl eligibility on Saturday. They are one of just 12 remaining undefeated teams.
