The 76ers were squashed by the shorthanded Pistons despite having all their players back, and Philly’s pain will continue against the Bucks.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks will meet on February 9 for the third time this season. The visiting team is still looking for a win after Milwaukee won each of the first two games by 14+ points.
My 76ers vs. Bucks predictions expect Milwaukee to cover a small spread at home and for Bobby Portis to deliver a monster line with Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined.

My analysis
I try tirelessly to ensure my betting content is grounded in fact and not biased in any way based on emotion. With that said, the Philadelphia 76ers have been an abject embarrassment this season.
The team finally got its Big 3 back together to face the Pistons on Friday, and Philly promptly surrendered 78 first-half points while digging a 29-point deficit. The Sixers have lost four of five, with their lone win coming in a two-point victory over Dallas’ skeleton crew.
At 19-30-2, the Sixers have the third-worst ATS record in the Association: Philadelphia has a 10-14-1 ATS record on the road and a 4-10-1 ATS record as a road underdog — good for the second-worst mark in the NBA. The Milwaukee Bucks are 11-12-1 ATS at home and 11-11-1 ATS as the home favorite.
The Bucks have failed to cover in six straight, but Sunday’s 2 p.m. ET matchup with the Sixers offers the opportunity to bounce back, even with their superstar forward sidelined.
Giannis will be out, but the Bucks are 4-4 straight up across their last eight without him. The 76ers list Joel Embiid as questionable on the injury report, but even if he plays, I’m backing the Bucks. The Sixers have a net rating of -1.7 with Embiid in the lineup and a -4.8 net rating with him sidelined. His availability hasn’t been majorly advantageous this season.
Philadelphia has been a solid defensive team for years, but that hasn’t been the case in 2024-25. The Sixers own the 23rd-ranked defensive rating on the season and the 26th-ranked defensive rating across the last 10 games. The team is ranked 21st in offensive rating, and there haven’t been too many positives to point out thus far.
I’ll take the home team to win and cover for the third time this season against a floundering Philadelphia franchise.
The Sixers have hit the Over in three of their last six, but the Bucks have gone Under in three straight. Philly hit the Over because of tremendously poor first-half defense against the Pistons, a poor showing against the Mavs, and a shootout against Denver’s sieve of a defense.
The Bucks’ offense has averaged just 108.7 points per game without Giannis this season, and the team hit the Under in seven of its last eight with him out. I expect a lower-scoring game tonight.
Bobby Portis has been incredible when given the opportunity to start this season, averaging 22.1 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists — good for 39.9 PRAs.
He hit the Over on this line in five of seven, and he’s dominated over his last two games. In that pair of contests, Big Bobby P has delivered 47 and 45 PRAs. He typically shines when Giannis is out, and I don’t expect him to fade for this matchup against Philly.
