After a tremendous recent run with the Philadelphia 76ers, rookie Jared McCain saw his NBA 2K25 rating take a massive jump in the latest batch of updates released on Thursday.
McCain was elevated into a larger role on Nov. 8 with Tyrese Maxey sidelined due to a hamstring injury. He is averaging 24.4 points, 4.1 assists and 2.3 rebounds on 43.9% shooting from 3-point range in seven games over that span, including four starts.
The 16th pick began the season with an overall rating of 70 in the initial release revealed by 2K Sports in August. He now has a rating of 83, up 10 points from his previous update of 73.
McCain has scored at least 20 points in six straight games, joining Allen Iverson, Jerry Stackhouse, Lee Shaffer and Joel Embiid as the only rookies in franchise history to accomplish that feat. He has totaled 103 points as a starter, the most by a rookie over their first four starts since the NBA-ABA merger.
The 20-year-old is now viewed as the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award after the first month of the season. He was outside of the top 10 in odds by most sportsbooks as recently as after the first week of the season but jumped up after his recent hot streak with the Sixers.
McCain has stepped up for the Sixers in place of Maxey, who returned on Wednesday. He was recognized for his strong play in the latest NBA 2K25 ratings and the Rookie of the Year race and should be in the running for several end-of-season awards if he can keep up his production.
