Miami has a significant NIL budget and the ability to woo high profile coaches, so they no doubt will have their sights set on some of the biggest names in the sport.
That includes Sean Miller, a four-time conference Coach of the Year who has made the NCAA Tournament 12 times – five times at Xavier and seven at Arizona. Miller is coming off a disappointing 2023-24 season where his team, marred by injuries, finished below .500 for the first time in his 20 year career, a sign of his greatness on the sideline.
Miller is from Pennsylvania, played at Pitt, and spent time as an assistant coach at Miami (OH), Pitt, and NC State prior to his first tenure at Xavier. His familiarity with the ACC, extensive recruiting pipelines across the country, and consistent winning ways make him an obvious choice for Miami if the boosters and admin are able to pay what it costs to pry him from Xavier this offseason.
