The New Year — and the entire month of January — is often the busiest time at the gym. This increase is largely driven by New Year’s resolutions as more people set fitness and health goals.
But staying on top of your fitness routine can be tough. If you need a little help, here are five little luxuries that can help you crush your 2025 fitness goals.
If you don’t have a home gym, a gym membership is worth it if you’re committed to working out regularly. The cost of a gym membership varies widely, and some are more luxurious than others.
According to GoodRx, gym memberships usually cost between $40 and $70 per month, but premium gyms can cost much more. Location, amenities, and other benefits can increase the cost.
A gym membership can be considered a luxury, but if you plan to go to the gym or use specific amenities, it can be worth the cost.
Workout headphones or earbuds aren’t a necessity, but they can help you stay motivated during workouts. Invest in high-quality, noise-canceling headphones to listen to music or podcasts while walking, running or lifting weights.
Prices vary, but popular options, like Beats Fit Pro or Bose QuietComfort Headphones, cost between $200 and $350, respectively, on Amazon.
Monitoring your progress can help you stay on track. Fitness trackers monitor your physical activity, including steps taken, distance covered, calories burned, heart rate, sleep patterns and blood pressure.
According to the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus, these trackers are fairly accurate at measuring steps and physical activity. Heart rate measurements have also dramatically improved over the past decade.
Costs vary, but most trackers range from $30 to nearly $600 relatively on Amazon.
Not all proteins are created equal. According to U.S. Dairy, high-quality proteins contain leucine and the other eight amino acids our bodies can’t make on their own. Higher-quality proteins provide improved muscle growth, faster muscle recovery, increased metabolism and offer a prolonged sense of fullness.
Lower-quality proteins will still benefit you, but U.S. Dairy pointed out that they don’t do so as effectively.
Again, the cost varies, but Think Holistic Fitness reported that it can cost about $74 per month for someone who needs 120 grams of protein per day.
Weight shouldn’t be your primary tracked measurement when it comes to achieving your fitness goals. Smart scales can measure key body stats, such as body fat, visceral fat, muscle mass and water weight percentages.
Prices vary widely. Some scales, like the Renpho Smart Scale, cost about $23, while the Withings Full Body Analysis Smart Scale costs about $400.
