5 High School Sports Awards girls nominees who could be McDonald’s All-Americans on Monday

The 48^th Annual McDonald’s All American Games are on April 1 at the Barclays Center in New York. On Monday, the rosters for the game will be announced. Last year, some of the top players in the country were recognized in various High School Sports Awards shows that are part of the USA Today High School Sports Awards program. Here are five of those players who could be chosen today for the girls game.

Keeley Parks, Norman High School, Oklahoma

HSSA honors: The 2024 OKC Metro High School Sports Awards Girls Basketball Player of the Year

247 Sports recruit ranking: 4-star, No. 17 overall

College: Committed to Kansas.

Evaluation: A shooting guard and small forward swing-man, Parks shoots the ball well and can also handle it in pressure situations. She is valuable because she can help bring the ball up court when needed, but can also spot up and hit an outside shot. She should add strength in college which will elevate her game as well.

McDonald’s chances: High

The 2024-25 OKC Metro High School Sports Awards show is on June 10 at the Young Family Athletic Center is Norman.

Taliyah Henderson, Salpointe Catholic High School, Tucson, Arizona

HSSA honors: 2024 Arizona High School Sports Awards Girls Basketball nominee

247 Sports recruit ranking: 4-star, No. 20 overall

College: Committed to North Carolina

Evaluation: At 6-feet tall, Henderson is listed as a small forward but has shown the ability to play both on the perimeter and in the post. A lefty, she still has some work to do to become a valuable outside shooter in college, but the potential is there. She has the length to defend and rebound against bigger players.

McDonald’s chances: Good

The Arizona High School Sports Awards, Presented by Diamond Kitchen & Bath, is June 4 at Orpheum Theater in Phoenix

Rainey Welson, Hortonville High School, Wisconsin

HSSA honors: 2024 Northeast Wisconsin High School Sports Awards Girls Basketball nominee

247 Sports recruit ranking: 4-star, No. 29 overall

College: Committed to Maryland

Evaluation: In high school, Welson has been a drive first forward who has created a lot of shots off the dribble. Having said that, her outside shot has improved each year. How much move it improves could be a big factor in her college success.

McDonald’s chances: Average

The 2024-25 Northeast Wisconsin High School Sports Awards are June 20 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The show is produced with the support of Cellcom.

Keziah Lofton, Bethany High School, Oklahoma

HSSA honors: 2024 OKC Metro High School Sports Awards Girls Basketball nominee

247 Sports recruit ranking: 4-star, No. 34 overall prospect

College: Committed to Oklahoma

Evaluation: Lofton can flat out get up and down the court, even when she has the ball. The left-hander will attack the basket, especially off the fast break. She is also a very good perimeter defender. She will need to improve her mid-range shot in college, but has potential to be excellent in that capacity as well.

McDonald’s chances: Below average

Amy Terrian, Pewaukee High School, Wisconsin

HSSA honors: 2024 Milwaukee High School Sports Awards Girls Basketball nominee

247 Sports recruit ranking: 4-star, No. 53 overall

College: Committed to Michigan State

Evaluation: Terrian is a point guard who controls the floor with precision. She is great at penetrating into the paint to create her own shot or kicking out to shooters on the perimeter. She is patient, tough and concentrates on helping her teammates find open shots.

McDonald’s chances: Low

The 2024-25 Milwaukee High School Sports Awards show is June 18 at Miller High Life Theatre.
