SALT LAKE CITY — Rawson Hardy shot 3-under-par 69 to card a two-day total of 8-under 136 for medalist honors, helping Park City capture its first 4A boys golf state title since 2018 Thursday at Meadowbrook Golf Course.
Forest Summers and Sam Hunt each tied for ninth to add a pair of top-10 finishes for the Miners, whose 16th state title in Utah High School Activities Association history ties Richfield or the most since the sport was first sanctioned in 1948.
Desert Hills’ Brock Porter finished one shot back of Hardy for second, and Orem’s Maddox Nielsen, West Field’s Mack Herzog, Desert Hills’ Tanner Wade and Murray’s Easton Toone finished tied for third at 3-under 141.
Park City finished five shots ahead of runner-up Desert Hills, which easily outpaced Crimson Cliffs for third. Ridgeline and Cedar rounded out the top five.

Lance Loughton carded his fifth birdie of the day on the 18th hole to lift the Morgan senior to medalist honors by a single stroke Thursday at the 3A boys golf state meet at Ridge Golf Course in West Valley.
The shot held off Ben Lomond’s Cayson VanBeekum, who shot the low round of the day at 4-under 68 to finish second with a two-day total of 137 — one stroke behind Loughton.
Morgan’s Jace Benson and Richfield’s Pace Mullen each shot 2-under 138 to finish tied for third.
Richfield captured its second team title in four years and a state-high 16th overall. The Bobcats beat Morgan by three strokes as the two dueled down the stretch more than 10 strokes ahead of third-place Carbon.

South Sevier’s Gunner Sorensen held off Parowan’s Tyler Massey in a two-hole playoff for medalist honors as the Rams won their first state championship in program history at Cedar Ridge in Cedar City.
Massey shot 77-76 in the 36-hole event to tie Sorensen, who carded 81 on the second day of the tournament after shooting 72 in the first 18 holes. After the duo both shot par on the first playoff hole, Massey conceded with a 6 on the second playoff hole to Sorensen’s 4 to capture the individual title.
Kavin Oakden from Beaver finished third, and Parowan’s McKay Pace tied Rowland Hall’s Hudson for fourth to round out the top five. The Rams added two more top-12 finishes in Keegan Johnson and Kyson Brown to secure to the team championship by 27 strokes over Beaver.
