LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The San Francisco 49ers will wrap up NFL preseason play with a matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders today – Friday, Aug. 23 – at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This game is available on multiple streaming services for free.
The game will broadcast live on NFL Network at 10 p.m. Eastern. (7 p.m. Pacific) Fans who have cut the cord can watch the game for free via Fubo or DirecTV Stream, which both offer free trials. Another option is SlingTV, which has promotional offers for new customers. This game is also available with an NFL+ subscription.
The five-time Super Bowl champion 49ers (1-1) are fine-tuning their lineup as they seek their first Vince Lombardi Trophy since 1994. San Francisco made it to the finale last year before falling short in a thriller to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Much like their identity, the 49ers preseason has been a defensive showing, grabbing a 16-10 win against the New Orleans Saints and suffering a 17-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans. San Francisco has found some strength in their playmaking reserves, including at running back and receiver.
The 49ers are planning on playing some of their starters, including quarterback Brock Purdy. He will likely be limited to a quarter of football. Purdy played with a choppy offensive line last game against the Saints, drawing some criticism. He went 2-of-6 in the first quarter. The goal is simply more reps.
Keep an eye on the backup quarterback battle between Josh Dobbs and Brandon Allen. Dobbs caught everyone’s attention with a nifty move to run in for the score in the final seconds of the first half last week. Plays like that go a long way in determining the pecking order.
Among multiple other missing starters, and with trade speculation continuing to swirl, Brandon Aiyuk most likely will sit this one out. Once linked to the Cleveland Browns, Steelers and others, he continues to wait and find out his fate. Star running back Christian McCaffrey is out with a calf injury.
On special teams, kicker Jake Moody missed a field goal last week. He will look to shore up those troubles in the preseason finale.

The Raiders (0-2) will be guided by first-year head coach Antonio Pierce as they continue to try and restore the franchise back to prominence. Las Vegas is currently in the middle of a two-year playoff drought.
The Raiders came up short against the Minnesota Vikings 24-23 and were trounced by the Dallas Cowboys in the following matchup, 27-12.
Journeyman Gardner Minshew has been named the starter for the black and silver after beating out Aidan O’Connell for the role. But the backup will get his chance to shine as Pierce has confirmed the starters will sit out the final preseason game. Reserve QB Carter Bradley is also expected to grab some playing time.
After some preseason hype, it’s the last chance for running back Dylan Laube, a sixth-round selection, to make a statement and earn some playing time.
Star wide receiver Devonte Adams will miss the game, setting up an intriguing display of receiver depth, including from rising talent DJ Turner. He presents a ton of matchup capability and figures to be a game wrecker in special teams, if given the chance.
Jalen Guyton has underperformed while dealing with injuries in camp and a slow return to preseason. Will one last shot be crucial in earning his spot on the field?
In his opportunities, defensive tackle Jade Silvera has bested Byron Young. If that trend continues, it’s feasible he could eat up his snaps, and overtake his role on the depth chart. This will be a perfect opportunity to continue the momentum.
