MATTHEWS, N.C. (WBTV) – A Matthews arcade was searched, leading to more than 100 playing stations being seized and four arrests on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Matthews police that morning searched the Ocean King Arcade at 11032 E. Independence Blvd after an ‘extensive’ investigation into suspected illegal gambling activities.

During that time, the software and hard drives from 75 arcade machines consisting of 111 playing stations; four guns; and U.S. currency were seized.
Four people – whose names have not yet been released – were arrested and charged with a mix of unlicensed armed security, illegal gambling, and outstanding arrest warrants.
Officers confirmed the investigation is ongoing.
