ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – If you need help preparing for the holiday season, The Junior League of Roanoke Valley has you covered with its annual fundraising event, The Stocked Market.
This marks 36 years of shopping and philanthropy as the JLRV celebrates another kick-off to the holidays. The 3-day event began Friday with a VIP Preview Coffee.
Doors open for general admission starting on Friday, November 8-10. Guests can shop at hundreds of vendors coming in from across the country. They are offering an array of unique gourmet foods, fashion apparel, accessories, arts, antiques, home and garden décor, pet products and more. JLRV sees around 10,000 shoppers each year during the 3-day event. It’s the longest running, local volunteer operated holiday shopping show in the Roanoke Valley.
All funds raised stay local and are used to further the JLRV’s mission. Over $4.2 million has been raised over the last 35 years.
“These funds that we get through the holiday market go back into the community through different grants and other initiatives that we hold throughout the year so by shopping with us and buying a ticket there’s a lot of benefits. Not only can you come and get very unique gifts and knock out all of your holiday shopping, but you can also support your community,” said JLRV Co-Chair, Connie Benesh-Blaskis.
The Stocked Market is Friday, November 8 from 11a.m.-6 p.m.
HomeGrown Market returns on Saturday, November 9, from 9a.m. – 6p.m. and Sunday, November 10 from 10a.m. – 5p.m. This market is open to artisans who create handmade items such as fine arts, crafts, homemade treats and more.
Tickets can be purchased online and at the door, on the day of the event for $12.
