CONNECTICUT — Three FYE stores are slated to close sometime in 2025 and that translates to just two locations left in Connecticut after the holiday shopping season.
All FYE stores in the state are mall-based. FYE is a specialty retailer offering entertainment and pop culture merchandise. The chain’s headquarters are located in Albany, NY. In January 2020, Trans World sold FYE to a subsidiary of Canadian company Sunrise Records and Entertainment Ltd.
The chain was initially known as For Your Entertainment.
Calls to stores throughout the state indicated that the Meriden, Waterbury and Danbury Stores will be closing at a date yet to be determined in 2025.
When the smoke clears, Connecticut will be left with the Trumbull store in the southwest corner of the state and Waterford in the southeast corner of the state.
Those in the central and northern reaches of Connecticut would consider the Holyoke, MA store to be the closest option. A staffer at Holyoke said there are no plans to close that location.
