POTTSVILLE — On Nov. 9, one lucky shopper at Weis Markets will get a chance to go home with hundreds of dollars’ worth of groceries — all for the low price of $20.
The Norwegian Twp. grocery store is the site of a “3-Alarm Shopping Spree” that will benefit the Goodwill Fire Co. in Port Carbon.
At 9 p.m. on Nov. 9, the winning shopper will have three minutes to go through the store and load their cart to their heart’s content. They are allowed to take up to three of any item.
The following items are not included in the spree: medications, gift cards, stamps, alcohol, baby formula, tobacco products, lottery tickets and propane.
Kathy Jenkins, fundraising chair for the fire company, said up to 500 tickets will be sold.
Tickets, which are $20, can be purchased at the Goodwill Fire Co. at 88 Washington St. between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
They can also be purchased from members of the fire company, who will be on hand at Weis daily from 4 to 6 p.m.
People can also scan a QR code on event flyers that have been put up throughout the store.
The winning ticket will be drawn at 9 p.m. Tuesday, during a pork-and-sauerkraut dinner at the fire company.
