The Chicago Bears have some important needs to address this offseason, including in the trenches on both sides of the ball. They have plenty of resources to do just that with top-three salary cap space along with four Top 75 picks in the 2025 NFL draft, including No. 10 overall.
In a new post-NFL Scouting Combine mock draft from Pro Football Focus, the Bears manage to snag arguably the best offensive lineman in the draft with LSU’s Will Campbell with the 10th overall pick. In this mock, Campbell is the second offensive lineman off the board after the New England Patriots selected Missouri’s Armand Membou at fourth overall.
I still love Will Campbell as a player, but his 32 5/8-inch arms rank in just the 7th percentile for tackles and his 77 3/8-inch wingspan would be the shortest of any offensive tackle since at least 2011 — likely much further.
Peter Skoronski never got a chance to play offensive tackle when he was drafted. I am not sure Campbell will either. That doesn’t change the fact that he’s an NFL starter, especially for a team like Chicago, where he would be perfect at guard or center.
The Bears have needs across the offensive line, where the entire interior will need to be replaced and they could also look to upgrade at left tackle. Following his combine measurements, most NFL teams could very well see Campbell as a better fit at guard than tackle.
Chicago is expected to be active in free agency as they look to address the offensive line, among other positions, and if Campbell is sitting there are No. 10, it’s an easy decision for the Bears.
